Family Affairs Documentation & Information Services
A single, ordered account
of your household's records.
Briarsteep works with families in Kuala Lumpur who want their paperwork in order — physical and digital — without the effort of doing it alone. Administrative scope only; no regulated advice of any kind.
Our Services
Three ways Briarsteep works with your family.
Service 01
Family Reference Index Build
Over the course of one month, a documentation coordinator works through your household's physical and digital records and builds a single printed reference book. Each document is catalogued by category, its storage location is noted, and renewal or update instructions are added alongside it. The result is one book that anyone in the family can open to find what they need.
- One-month engagement with clear deliverable
- Physical and digital records both covered
- Printed reference book handed to household
- Renewal and update notes included per document
Service 02
Inter-Sibling Operating Agreement Workshop
A one-day small-group workshop for adult siblings who share the day-to-day administrative responsibilities for an older parent — paying household bills, keeping a shared renewal calendar, or managing civil document renewals. A household communication facilitator leads the session, and at the end participants walk out with a simple written operating arrangement that they have agreed to use among themselves. This is an informal, non-binding working document; it is not a substitute for advice from any qualified professional.
- One full day, small group format
- Covers bill management, calendar sharing, renewals
- Written operating arrangement produced on the day
- Neutral facilitator keeps the session on track
Service 03
Long-Range Family Documentation Retainer
An annual arrangement in which a documentation coordinator stays available to your household throughout the year. This covers small operational questions about filing, help with requesting replacement copies of standard public records, quarterly refreshes of the household index, and an end-of-year written summary. Designed for families who move between cities or manage paperwork across multiple properties and want a single steady point of contact. Administrative scope only.
- Year-round availability for filing questions
- Quarterly index refreshes included
- Replacement record request assistance
- End-of-year written household summary
Why Briarsteep
The difference a structured record makes.
One complete picture
Every record your household holds, in one place, with clear notes. No searching across drawers, email threads, or memory.
Quiet coordination
A neutral facilitator reduces friction when siblings need to agree on shared responsibilities. Less discussion, more resolution.
Steady availability
The retainer gives families a year-long resource they can reach when a paperwork question arises — without having to start from scratch each time.
Administrative only
Briarsteep is documentation work, not regulated advice. That boundary is kept clearly. Families know what the service covers and what sits outside its scope.
Fixed, transparent pricing
Each engagement is priced at a single agreed figure before any work begins. No add-ons, no billable-hour surprises at the end of the month.
KL-based, locally oriented
Operating from Jalan Ampang, Briarsteep understands the civil document landscape in Malaysia and the practical patterns of multi-generation families in the Klang Valley.
Start here
A short conversation is enough to know whether Briarsteep fits what your family needs.
Send a message, or call directly. There is no obligation — the first exchange is simply to understand your household's situation and which service, if any, makes sense.
Common Questions
Questions families usually ask first.
What exactly does a documentation coordinator do?
A documentation coordinator works through your household's records — payslips, property documents, insurance papers, civil registrations, and similar — organises them into a structured index, and notes where each one is kept and when it needs renewal. The work is entirely administrative; the coordinator does not read documents for legal or financial purposes, does not give any form of regulated advice, and does not make decisions on behalf of the household.
How long does the Family Reference Index Build take?
The engagement is one calendar month. Within that month we schedule two working visits to the household and one review session. The printed reference book is handed over at the end of the final session. If the household has an unusually large volume of records, we discuss this at the initial conversation and adjust timelines accordingly.
Is the sibling workshop available for families outside Kuala Lumpur?
The workshop is currently held at our Jalan Ampang office or at a venue the family arranges in the Klang Valley. We can discuss remote participation for siblings who cannot travel to KL, though some elements of the workshop work better when all participants are in the same room.
What does the annual retainer cost and what does it include?
The Long-Range Family Documentation Retainer is RM 4,260 for a full year. This covers year-round availability for filing questions, four quarterly index refreshes, assistance with requesting replacement copies of standard civil and public records, and an end-of-year written summary of the household's document status. All work is administrative in scope.
Does Briarsteep provide legal or financial advice?
No. Briarsteep is a documentation and information service. We organise, index, and coordinate household paperwork. We do not interpret documents for legal purposes, give tax or financial guidance, represent families in any proceeding, or carry out any activity that falls within a regulated profession. Families are always encouraged to consult a qualified professional for matters that require regulated expertise.
How is the pricing structured?
Each service is a single fixed price agreed before work begins: RM 1,780 for the Reference Index Build, RM 720 for the Sibling Workshop, and RM 4,260 per year for the Long-Range Retainer. There are no additional charges for time spent within scope. Payment terms are discussed during the initial conversation.
How do we begin working together?
Use the contact form below or call us directly. The first step is a short exchange — usually a phone call or brief written exchange — to understand your household's situation. If a service seems appropriate, we arrange a more detailed conversation before any work or payment is agreed.
